Lauren Richard grew up in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and moved to Toronto a decade ago to pursue musical theatre at the Randolph Academy ('09). Her favourite memories include briefly playing Maureen in Rent, singing in the same show as the one and only Colm Wilkinson in the original Theatre 20 Emerging Artists cast, and getting her gold ticket with Cirque du Soleil as a replacement vocalist for 3 touring productions. After a series of dance injuries, Lauren turned her focus to the booming craft beer scene in 2012, becoming the youngest female Certified Cicerone® beer sommelier in Canada by 2015. Lauren wrote her Advanced Cicerone® in Denver, Colorado during the production of this show, and hopes to be one of the leaders of beer education and female empowerment in brewing in Canada. Multi-talented and multi-tasking, you can find Lauren as bar manager and beer curator for @HotMessTexMex, and singing with her classic country band, @TheShortcans at a legion near you. You can catch Lauren as a home brewer on Season 3 of Viceland's Beerland, a brewing competition across North America, premiering May 29th.
